In earlier days this place was known as Varaha Kulam. This Temple does not have any Rajagopuram but instead there is an Arch which is East facing. On top of the Welcome Arch Sri Varaha Perumal is seen along with few other Gods. There is a gold plated Dwajasthambam, a Bali Peedam and a Garudalwar who faces the Moolavar Sannadhi. The threshold of the Sanctum sanctorum looks awesome with gold platings and the two Dwara Baalakas. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Aadhi Varaha Perumal and He is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This Temple is also known as Kalayana Varaha Perumal Temple. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Ambujavalli. This Temple is considered to be one of the five Temple linked with Mahamaham festival. This Temple is built on the confluence of River Cauvery and Arasalaru. Recently Mahasamprokshanam of this Temple was performed on 26th October 2015. Inside the Sanctum Sanctorum Adhi Varaha Perumal can be seen along with His Consort Bhoomadevi on His Lap and Adisesham can be seen in a standing posture. There is a separate Shrine for Goddess Ambujavalli. There are Sub Shrines for Vishvaksenar, Nigamantha Maha Desigar Sannidhi. There is a Yaaga Saalai for performing Homam, Yaagam etc and there is an exclusive enclosure to store the Temple Vaahanams. The Sacred Tank of this Temple is known as Varaha Theertham and it is located outside the Temple. Maasi Brahmmotsavam, Aavani Pavitrothsavam, Navarathri, Garuda Sevai are celebrated in a grand manner. The outer peripheral of the Temple has a metallic roofing to safeguard the Devotees from the vageries of Nature. There is an exclusive stand for lighting oil lamps. Though the Temple looks small the Powers of the Presiding Deity Aadhi Varaha Perumal is sky high. Since it is located in a narrow road parking vehicles here may be cumbersome to the Devotees.
