This Temple is a Sanee, Raahu and Kethu Parihaara Sthalam. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Agasteeshwarar who is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Ananthavalli Ambal. This Temple is known as Vada Thirunallaru.  This Temple is one of the Navagraha Sthalam in Chennai or Thondai Mandalam and is dedicated to Lord Saneeswara Bagavan. The Temple was built by the Chola Kings in the 12th Century. Initially this place was called as Pugazh Chola Nallur and now this place is currently called as Pozhichalur. Festivals like Mahasivarathri, Karthikai Deepam, Sani Peyarchi, Rahu Kaalam, Pradosams, Arudhra Dharisanam and Guru Peyarchi are celebrated in a grand manner.
