Sri Devi Karumari Amman Temple is located in Puzhithivakkam which is close to Madipakkam on the Chennai Outskirts. Sri Devi Karumari Amman Temple is situated in Erikarai Street in Sheela Nagar of Puzhuthivakkam. It is a very small Temple built beneath a huge Neem Tree. The Presiding Deity is Sri Devi Karumari Amman whose Idol is located in the Moolasthanam. Facing the Presiding Deity of Sri Devi Karumari Amman is a podium and on top of this podium there is a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a Simha Vaahanam. The Urchavamoorthy Idols of Sri Devi Karumari Amman is also seen within the Moolasthanam. The Temple has Sub Shrines for Sri Irrattai Pillayar and Sri Murugan. There are a few Idols of Naga Devathas too. There is a huge lake adjoining this Temple. The Temple though very small is said to be one of the most powerful Temples of this area. This Temple is being taken care of by the local residents of Madipakkam and Puzuthivakkam. Efforts are sincerely being taken to add up a few more Sub Shrines with the help of the local residents. Most of the Temple area are under temporary roofing for now. This Temple is considered as a Graama Devathai Kovil by many local residents who reside in and around Madipakkam and Puzhithivakkam. There is a general belief with says that Childless Couple come here and tie a Bell and Pray to Her. Such Couple are Blessed with a kid very soon. Abhishekam is done to Sri Devi Karumari Amman on all Full Moon or Pournami, Kiruthigai, Sankadahara Chathurthi etc. Such days attracts a lot of local Devotees to this Temple.
