  • Maa Dewri Temple, Tamar, Ranchi, Jharkhand

The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Goddess Solhabhuji Durga. The Presiding Deity of this Temple has sixteen hands instead of the usual 8 hands. The unique aspect of this Temple is that no cement or binding material is used to  build this Temple complex. This Temple is built by simply keeping stones on top of one another. There is a Sacred Bamboo Tree in this Temple and it is believed that tieing a yellow and red thread in this Bamboo Tree would fulfill their wishes. Here Goddess Durga can be seen along with Lord Shiva. This is the only Temple in the entire Jharkand where a Tribal Priest offers Prayer along with other Brahmin Priests. This Temple is one of the oldest Temple of India and is seven hundred years old. This Temple is located around 60 kilometer away from Ranchi City. Festivals like Durga Pooja, Dussera etc. are celebrated in a grand manner.
