This Sri Maha Ganapathy Temple is located on the Main Road around 15 Kms away from Dharmasthala and is built on the Banks of River Palghuni. The place where the Temple is located is called as Aladangadi in Belthangady Taluk of South Kannada District. The Temple is eye appealing even from the road side. The Temple is East facing and has a beautiful brown compound wall and a matching sliding gate of the same colour. Just outside the Temple is placed a huge steel Hundi and on either side of it are two Black Elephants. The Temple has a tiled verandah where water cooler facility is available for the Devotees. The wooden door leading the Devotees to the Temple is so well designed and etched with various images of Gods. The Sanctum Sanctorum which is built East facing is slightly elevated and has to be reached by 4 or 5 steps. The Presiding Deity here is Sree Maha Ganapathy who is in a sitting posture and is East facing. The Moolavar Vigraham or Idol which is made out of black stone is so impressive. The threshold leading to the Sanctum Sanctorum is gold plated and eye captivating to any Devotee visiting here. On all sides of the Temple there are Mandapams with multiple pillars. The walls of these mandapams are decorated with various images of Almighty Maha Ganapathy. Likewise brass bells are hung at different points of the Temple to mark important rituals. In fact Divine functions and rituals could be performed in this Mandapam with ease. The Temple has a Temple Kitchen and the vessels meant for making Prasadams to the Devotees are kept meticulously clean. There is a Sacred well available within the Temple premises for being used for religious purposes, cooking etc. The elevated steps leading to the Sanctum Sanctorum has a Simha Vaahana Image on the outside of the steps making it visible to the Devotees. The Temple has been designed and built with brown walls and a Mangalore type ceiling. Even within the precincts of the Temple tinned roofing is made use of wherever needed so that the Devotees are saved from rain and heat. The granite walls of the Moolasthanam looks so beautiful and all around its outer wall similar images of Elephants have been etched. This Temple comes under the Government in the C Category. The Temple is meticulously kept clean and the in-charge person of all religious sanctities Mr.Praveenayya has to be complimented and appreciated for his hard work. The Temple was built and consecrated on 7th February - 2023. Sankadahara Chathurthi, Vinayagar Chathurthi are celebrated in a grand manner. Since the Temple is built on the main road it has started attracting a lot of tourists cutting across this place as a result of which the number of Devotees visiting here is gradually increasing.
