Munugupet is also called as Munugapet or Munugapattu by the locals. This Temple is located very close to Arani in Thiruvannamalai District. This is a typical ancient Temple since we cannot see Stone Idols here, instead we can see only stucco images.The Preisiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Pachaiamman. This Temple is considered as the first Temple in the entire world that is dedicated to Goddess Pachai Amman. This is an East facing Temple with a colourful Welcome Arch. A stucco Idol of Sri Pachai Amman is seen on the Welcome Arch. There are two stucco Idols of Veeraiyan and Veerayee just before the three tiered Rajagopuaram. Like other Temples this Temple has a three tiered Rajagopuram. This  place is considered as the first place where the Goddess Worshipped God Shiva and that Swayambhu Shiva Lingam can be still seen near this Temple and it is believed that this Lingam is growing with each passing day. There is an East facing Deity of Sri Mannarswamy who is an incarnation of God Shiva. The Presiding Deity of Sri Pachai Amman is seen in a sitting posture with four hands. There are Idols of an Elephant, Horse, Rishabam and Naaga Devathas. This Temple has an exclusive enclosure of Navagraha Sannadhi. Every night during Full Moon day a Special Poojai is conducted. The Maha Kumbaabhishekam was performed on 4th June 2012.  During the Durga Pooja Day thousands of Devotees visit this Temple in order to get the Blessings of Goddess Pachai Amman. There are Idols of God Shiva and Maha Vishnu and they are known as Vazhmuni and Semmuni respectively. Saptha Rishi can also be seen in this Temple. There is a Madapalli or Temple Kitchen inside the Temple complex.
