Sri Achala Deepeshwarar Temple is located close to the banks of River Cauvery. The Temple has entry points in 3 directions. There is a three tiered East facing Rajagopuram. There are two Idols of Vinayagar kept just beneath the Rajagopuram. It is believed that one visit to this Temple will blow away all the obstacles that a Devotee has faced in his life. There are two Dwara Baalakas who stand guard at the threshold of the Moolasthanam. The Presiding Deity is Sri Acha Deepeswara Swamy who is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He is found as a Shiva Lingam and is West facing. There is a Ananya Vilakku or an Oil Lamp which is never blown off. Due to this Asaiya Vilakku the Moolavar is also called as Achala Deepeshwarar. Around the Koshtam of the Sanctum Sanctorum are the Idols of Dakshinamoorthy, Arthanareeswarar, Brahmma, Vishnu Durgai and Chandikeshwarar. His Consort here is Madhukaraveni Ambal who is East facing and found in a multi pillared Mandapam. There are two Dwara Baalakis Idol who stand guard at the threshold of the Ambal's Sannadhi. Inscriptions reveal that this Temple was built during the Naayak period by the Paalayakars of Sendhamangalam. There are Sub Shrines for  Kalyana Subramaniyar who is flanked by Valli and Devasena. The outer peripheral has two diffferent Trees and beneath these two trees are the Idols of Vinayagar, Naagars and a few Shiva Lingam. The outer peripheral also houses the 63 Nayanmaars, Kanni Moola Ganapathy, Appu Lingam, Niruthi Lingam, Theyu Lingam, Agni Lingam and Agasa Lingam, Kasi Viswanathar, Kasi Vishalakshi, Anjaneyar and Kethu Bhagawan. There is a Poorna Pushkala Samedha Ayyappan Sub Shrine and a Navagraha enclosure near the Northern entrance. There is an exclusive Sub Shrine for Sarabeshwarar which attracts an overwhelming number of Devotees during Raahu Kaalam. Oil Lamps cannot be lighted in all the places and the Temple has an exclusive oil lamp stand meant for it. Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner.
