Sri Ranganathar Temple is located in a small hill in Palamalai within Periyanayakanpalayam Taluk of Coimbatore District. This Temple is several centuries old and has been a haven for Sages and Saints to perform their Poojas, Penance etc because of its Natural Beauty, Calm Ambience and Tranquility. The Temple has a 3 tiered Rajagopuram. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Ranganathar is a replica of Sri Rangam Ranganathar since both of them are beneath the Divine Aadhi Seshan in a Sayana Kolam. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Sri Ranganathar is seen in a reclining posture along with His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. The Presiding Deity can be seen from the entrance itself since He is 4 and half feet tall. Apart from the Moolasthanam there are Sub Shrines for Sri Garudalwar, Sri Anjaneya Swamy, Sri Vinayagar, Sri Paravasudeva Perumal, Sri Ramanujar and the Alwars. Here Sri Chakkarathalwar and Sri Yoga Narashimar can be seen together in the Artha Mandapam of this Temple. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is Kaarai Tree and the Pushkarani or Sacred Tank is known as Palamalai Theertham. Devotees visiting this Temple tie a thread aound the  Poovarasam Tree in order to get blessed with a Child and a good married life. Every year during Tamil Month of Chithirai Car festival ten days is celebrated in a grand manner. On Krishna Jayanthi, Hanumanth Jayanthi, Diwali and Pongal special Poojas are conducted here. Since Palamalai Hill is developing into a Tourist spot fit for trekking there are equal number of Tourists and Trekkers as that of the Devotees.
