This Temple is also known as Gajendra Varadaraja Perumal Temple.  It is located 12 Kms away from Ambasamudhram and close to Veeravanallur on the banks of River Tamirabarani.  King Veera Pandiyadeva Pandiyan and King Kulasekara Pandiyan were fond of this Temple.  The Temple has a majestic and colourful five tiered East facing Rajagopuram.  There is another Gopuram after the main five tiered Rajagopuram and this area is full of pillars and other eye captivating carvings.  The Presiding Deity is Aadhi Moolam and the Urchavamoorthy is Gajendra Varadharaja Perumal. The Presiding Deity has four arms and is in a standing posture with His two Consorts Sree Devi and Bhoo Devi.  Like all other Temples this Temple too has a Garudalwar, Dwajasthambam and a Bali Peedam facing the Sanctum Sanctorum. Sages Brihu and Markandeyar are also seen here. There are Sub Shrines for Lord Krishna, Rukmani and Sathyabhama, Chakrathalwar and Narasimhar.  Apart from this Goddess Therku Nachiyar (Lakshmi) and Vadakku Nachiyar (Bhoo Devi) have Sub Shrines of their own.  The Paramapathanathar or Vishnu is seen in a sitting posture. There are Sub Shrines for Anjaneyar, Aandal and Viswaksenar.  It is here that Lord Vishnu killed the Crocodile with His Discuss when it had caught Gajendra, the Elephant that had gone to fetch a Lotus for Him from a nearby lake and hence the name Gajendra Moksham.  It is for this reason that some locals refer this Temple as Yaanai Kaatha Nallur.  There is a Temple Garden or Nandavanam. Vaikunda Ekadesi, all Purattasi Saturdays and Garuda Sevai are celebrated in a grand manner.  This Temple draws a huge number of Devotees who come here with a broken marriage proposal, Child boon and disharmony in family life.  It is believed that such Devotees are Blessed by Him and they could lead a peaceful life thereafter.
