Sivanthangal is a Hamlet located close to Sriperumbudur. The full name of the Temple is Sri Puthathamman Samedha Sri Bhoothapureeswarar Temple. This Temple does not have a Rajagopuram or a compound wall. This is an East facing Temple and on entering there is a Yaaga Kundam on the right facing which are two small Idols of two Sages. Then there is a Neivedhya Peedam, a Dwajasthambam and a Nandhi Vaahanam within a four pillared Mandapam facing the Moolasthanam of Sri Bhoodhapureeswarar. Beyond this is a huge and colourful multi pillared Mandapam. The Gopuram of this multi pillared Mandapam has coloured Images of Shivan and Parvarthy in their Kalyana Kolam who are seen along with Maha Vishnu, Lakshmi, Saraswathi, Nandheeswarar, Narathar etc. Devotees may have to climb 3 or 4 steps to reach this multi pillared Mandapam. Just before the Moolasthanam are two huge coloured Idols of Dwara Baalakas who stand guard here. On top of the entrance of the Moolasthanam is a Shiva Lingam flanked by Vinayagar and Murugan. In the East facing Santum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Sri Bhutapureeswarar is seen in the form of a Shiva Lingam. He is considered as an incarnation of God Shiva and He looks dazzling with the Naagabharanam to the eyes of the Devotees. It is believed that this Presiding Deity of Sri Bhoothapureeswarar was found as a Swayambhu Shiva Lingam in the Agricultural fieds several centuries ago. He was revered and Prayed from thenon. It is widely believed that this Temple came into existence with the help of the Bhoothaganangal around 1500 years ago. Hence this place is also known as Bhoothpuri and all the Gods and Goddess of this Temple have a prefix Bhoothpuri to them.  Around the Koshtam of the Moolavar there are Idols of Ganapathy, Dhakshinamoorthy, Maha Vishnu, Brahmma, Durgai and Chandikeshwarar. The Consort of Sri Bhoothapureeswarar is known as Sri Puthathamman and She has a separate Shrine. The Shrine of Sri Puthtathamman is South facing and there are two Dwara Baalakis who stand guard before the Ambal's Shrine. Sri Puthathamman is very unique since She is seen South facing and in a sitting posture. Usually in other Shiva Temples the Ambal is found in a standing posture only. The other unique fact here is that there is a Simha Vaahanam and a Neivedhya Peedam built within Her Shrine itself. Around the Koshtam of Sri Puthathamman are the Idols of Iccha Sakthi, Kiriya Sakthi and Gnana Sakthi. Close to the Shrine of Sri Puthathamman is a South facing Sub Shrine of Sri Bhoothapuri Sri Sivagami Udanurai Sri Natarajar. The Urchavamoorthy Idols are also seen in this Sub Shrine.

In the outer peripheral North West Sub Shrine in which there is a Palm Tree around which a Veshti or Dhoti is found. Beneath this Palm Tree is an Idol of Panaimarathu Siddhar. There is and East facing Sub Shrine in which the Idol of Sri Bhoothapuri Maha Vishnu is seen. There is a North facing Sub Shrine of Naalvar in which the Idols of Thirugnana Sammandhar, Appar or Navuvakkarasarar, Sundarar and Manickavasagar. Then there is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Bhoothapuri Vinayagar. There are two Dwara Baalaka Idols guarding this Sub Shrine. Facing this Sri Bhoodapuri Vinayagar's Sub Shrine is a Neivedhya Peedam and a Moonjur Vaahanam. Likewise there is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Boothapuri Murugan who is flanked on either side by Valli and Devasena. Facing this Sub Shrine is a Mayil Vaahanam and a Neivediya Peedam. This Boothapuri Murugan does not have any Dwara Baalakas for His Sub Shrine. Then there is another East facing Sub Shrine for Bhoothapuri Iyyappa Swamy. Close to this is a North facing Sub Shrine of Bhoothapuri Karuppanna Swamy. The outer peripheral has a South facing Sub Shrine of Sri Bhoothapuri Nagathamman and there is a Trident rooted to the ground. Close to this is a Sub Shrine in which Sri Bhoothapuri Raahu, Sri Bhoothapuri Kethu and Sri Bhoothapuri Nagarajar.

There is an East facing Sub Shrine in which Sri Bhoothapuri Govindaraja Perumal is seen flanked by Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. Facing this Sub Shrine is an Idol of Sri Garudalwar and Neivedhya Peedam. There is another East facing Sub Shrine in which Bhoothapuri Sri Vaarahi Amman is seen. Close to the Sri Vaarahi Amman Sub Shrine is a South facing Sub Shrine of Bhoothapuri Sri Ramanujar. The outer peripheral has a West facing Sub Shrine in which Bhoothapuri Sri Anjaneya Swamy is seen in a standing posture. Likewise there is another South facing Sub Shrine for Bhoothpuri Sri Kaala Bhairavar. The Temple also has a Navagraha Sannadhi. The Temple has a mini stage in which Divine Functions could be held. They have erected a Lighting Stand for Oil Lamps. The Temple's Chariot is safely secured in an enclosure just outside the Temple premises. The outer peripheral of the Temple has been cemented and hence Devotees circumambulating it in rainy season is quite cumbersome since this area becomes slushy.

The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is Mango Tree or Maa Maram. The Temple has a Ghoshala. Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri, Maha Shivarathiri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner.
