The full name of the Temple is Sri Visalakshi Ambika Samedha Sri Chandrashekara Swami Temple. This Temple is located in a very narrow street and hence those Devotees who come by car ought to park it at a safe and distant place and walk down to this Temple. There is a small three tiered East facing Rajagopuram. Devotees may have to climb 5 to 6 steps to reach the level of the Temple. To the left is the East facing Sub Shrine of Vinayagar and to the right is another East facing Sub Shrine of Murugan. There is a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam, a Dwajasthambam or Kodimaram and a Nandhi Vaahanam kept on a four pillared Mandapam facing the Moolasthanam. On either side of the Moolasthanam there are two Dwara Baalakas who stand guard. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Chandrasekara Swamy is found East facing in the form of a Shiva Lingam. In the same multi pillared Mandapam the Idols of Urchavamoorthies are safely kept. Close to this is the Sub Shrine of Natarajar who is seen along with His Consort Sivagami Ambal. Before the Shrine of Sri Visalakshi Ambal there are two Idols of Dwara Baalakis who are known as Dwara Sakthi. Next to them are the Idols of Ganapathy and Murugan. The Ambal Sannadhi is South facing and She is known as Sri Visalakshi Ambigai. Around the Koshtam the Idols of Dhakshinamoorthy, Lingothbhavar, Durgai Amman and Chandikeshwarar are seen. The Temple's inner peripheral comprises of Idols of Somaskandar, Bikshadanar, Kengalanathar, Kasi Viswanathar, Visalakshi. The 63 Naayanmaars are lined up side by side and they are North facing. The Temple has an East facing Mangala Vinayagar and in the next Sub Shrine Sri Ranganathar is seen along with His Consorts Sri Devi, Bhoo Devi. He is seen East facing and reclined on the Aadhi Seshan. The Temple Vaahanams are stacked next to this. In another Sub Shrine there is a solitary East facing Idol of Dhandayuthapani and next to this is the Sub Shrine of Shanmugar who is flanked by Valli and Devasena. There are two different South facing Sub Shrines for Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswathi. The outer peripheral has a West facing Sub Shrine for Kaala Bhairavar and next to this is the Navagraha Sannadhi and Yaagasaalai Mandapam. The Surya Bhagwan and Chandra Bhagwan are seen facing Westwards towards the Moolasthanam.The Sthala Viruksham which is a Vilva Maram is kept in a Sub Shrine and beneath it are a few Naga Devathas Idols. Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri, Maha Shivarathiri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner. This Temple is administered by the Paramakudi Sourashtra Brahmins.
