In Tamil this Temple is known as Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple and it is located in Thulasi Baba Madam Road in Rameshwaram. This Temple is located in the heart of Rameswaram and is North facing. It is believed that centuries ago this Temple was just a small Madam and there were movements of Aghoris then. Right from those days Saadhus and Hermits use to visit this Madam where Annadhanam was done even in those days. There are a few tin sheet roofing at the anterior of the Temple. On entering the premises a Thulasi Baba's Image is drawn on the right. Beyond this is a row of Naga Devathas facing South. A Jeeva Samadhi of the Mentor of Thulasi Baba is placed in a four pillared Mandapam. A pair of Divine foot prints believed to be of the Thulasi Baba is found on his Jeeva Samaadhi. An Idol of Lord Shiva and Vinayagar is seen West facing. There is a small souvenir shop within the premises and close to it is a massive 18 feet black Idol of Panchamugha Anjaneyar facing South. The five faces found in this massive Idol are those of 1) Hanuman, 2) Narasimhar, 3) Varahar, 4) Garudalwar and 5) Hayagreevar. Beneath it there is a Jabalpur Baba who ties Raksha thread around the wrists of the Devotees for a small sum. There are unbelievable floating stones alleged to have been touched by Nalan and Neelan during the Ramayana times in this Temple. The Temple staff have kept the stone in water and it is still floating and attracts a lot of attention with the Devotees coming here. A small solitary black vigraham of an Hanuman is seen here and He is believed to be centuries old. Another Panchamukha Hanuman is found smeared with Senduram and He was on the other side of the road and it is believed that He was brought in and placed inside the Temple when the massive 18 feet Panchamuga Hanuman was placed on the pedestal. The Temple comprises of a small multi pillared Mandapam which are neatly painted. There are several Images of age old Saadhus which have been neatly framed and hung. There is a set of white Idols for Lord Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana and Hanuman. This is not a Govt. owned Temple but instead Sumathi Dass owns and manages it very well. Nambu Kumar and a few others lend her a helping hand. Those Devotees who are interested in donating to this Temple could contact them and do the needful. Since the Temple is located on the main road there is no car parking space for this Temple. Sri Rama Navami and Hanumath Jayanthi are celebrated in a grand manner.
