The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Puthrakameshtiswarar. He is none other Lord Shiva Himself. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Periyanayaki. Childless Devotees visiting this Temple are believed to be Blessed with a Child  and hence the name Puthrakameshti Easwarar.  The Presiding Deity of this Temple can be seen under a nine headed serpant.  As per Vedas anyone should begin their work by worshipping Lord Vinayaka and end it by worshiping Lord Hanuman. To showcase this Lord Vinayaka can be seen facing North and Lord Hanuman is facing South. This is the only Temple where Lord Vinayaka and Hanuman face each other. This Temple has Sub Shrines for Sri Swarna Vinayakar, Sri Panchalingam with Ambicas, Ashtothra Lingam, Sri Veerabadra with Kali. Sri Shanumugha can be seen along with His Consorts Valli and Deivanai, Sri Gopalakrishna can be seen with Bhama and Rukmani, Sri Kalabhairava, Sri Saneeswara and Sri Surya are also seen. Purattasi Navarathri and Maha Shivarathri are celebrated in a grand manner and One lakh Deepam are lit during Swathi Star Day.  The Sthala Viruksham of the Temple is Pavalamalli and the Theertham is Kamandala River.
