Sri Ragavendra Swamy Temple is located at a place called Karungalapalayam in Erode. The Temple is built on the Banks of River Cauvery. It is dedicated to the Madhwa Saint of Sri Ragavendraswamy who is the Presiding Deity. Sri Ragavendra Swami was the great Hindu Saint and an exponent the Dwaidham. This Temple is supposed to be more than 500 years old. It is construed as a Brindhavan which means that it is a Temple built in Honour of an Acharya with the Sacred Tulsi Plants all around. It is believed that the foundation stone for this Temple was fetched from Sri Ragavendra Swamy Temple, Mantralayam. There is a small Rajagopuram in this Temple and there are Sub Shrines for Sri Rama, Goddess Seetha and Sri Anjaneya Swamy. A Bat Mandapam which was existent for a long time was demolished and a new Mandapam has been built over it. It is believed that a visit to this Temple removes all obstacles for Marriages and it also relieves Devotees of their financial distress. Since a Temple for Sri Ragavendra Swamy is rare in and around this place, the Temple draws a steady inflow of Devotees not only from the Madhwa Commiunity but also from Devotees from all walks of life. The Temple has a Pushkarani or Sacred Tank. Sri Rama Navami, Gokulasthmi and Raghavendra Jayanthi are celebrated with great fanfare.
