Long back Irumbai village was called as Iruncheri or Illuppai since in earlier times a lot of Illuppai Trees were densely grown in and around this area.  This Sithar Shirdi Sai Baba Temple is located on the Pondichery to Tindivanam Main Road closer to Pondy in a hamlet called Morataandi within Irumbai village.  Though this Temple is much closer to Pondy it is well within Tamil Nadu.  A decade ago the same Temple was placed closeby in a thatched shed but now they have built a concrete structure with a golden colour Dome and the consecration was performed in the year 2022.  An image of Saibaba is kept outside so that it draws the attention of all Vehicles passing through this road.  The entire Temple premises is built on an elevated platform and 8 to 10 steps have to be claimed to reach the Temple.  Midway through the steps they have bult a very small Temple like structure where a white Sai Baba Idol is kept.  Facing Him is a small Nandhi Bhagwan Idol.  On reaching the Main hall another white Sai Baba Idol with a cloth turban is placed to the left and this Idol was earlier the Main Deity that had occupied the thatched shed Temple 10 years back.  Now the present Sai Baba Idol is seen in a sitting posture facing East and beneath him is a pait of Divine feet.  Both have been made out of white marble brought from Jaipur in Rajasthan.  A pair of oil lamps and a Vinayagar Idol too are kept in the Sanctum Sanctorum.  A few Images of Shirdi Sai Baba have been hung inside the Temple to catch the attention of all Devotees.  The wooden doors leading to the Main Deity have been nicely etched with Sai Baba images. This Temple is bound to grow bigger and bigger since it is close to the National Highway and could attract the people and tourists who are likely to visit Pondy.  The Temple is open right through the day and is being looked after by Sridharan, Chandrasekar and Deepa Priya.  The Temple has CCTV coverage facilities.  Mr.R.Chandrasekar who has built this Temple hails from Pondy.
