Sree Thirthagiri Vadivel Subramaniar Temple is also known as Theerthagiri Murugan Temple and is located on the Chennai Vellore National Highway close to Sathuvachari. The Temple is supposed to be around 2000 years old and the Idol is said to have been excavated when a well was dug. The Temple had been renovated and rebuilt in the recent years by Nataraja Mudaliyar with the help of several Devotees and Wellwishers. The foot hill of the Temple is called as Venkatapuram and there is a small Arch with a flight of foot steps leading us to the Temple. A Motorable Ghat Road is also available from the left of the Welcome Arch. At this junction there is a Sub Shrine for Pillayar along with a Navagraha enclosure. The Ghat Road leading to the Temple is still under renovation but Devotees can bring their Vehicle right upto the Temple located at the hilltop. The anterior part of the Temple is fully covered with tiles. A huge Dwajasthambam along with a Spear which is considered as a weapon of Lord Murugan in found facing the Temple. 5 to 6 steps have to be climbed in order to reach the Sanctum Sanctorum. Two Idols of an Elephant painted white are kept on either side of these steps. The Maha Mandapam consists of four pillars and a colourful Goddess Gajalakshmi statue is kept atop the Sanctum Sanctorum. Theerthagiri is considered as the first place where Lord Murugan came after His Marriage with Valli in Thiruthani. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Vadivel Subramaniyar stands along with His Consorts Valli and Devasena. It is unique here that on seeing the Black Moolavar Vigraham one is amazed to see Valli almost equivalent in height to that of Lord Murugan whereas Devasena is much shorter. There is an Urchavamoorthy Idol of Lord Nataraja in the Sanctum Sanctorum itself. There are Sub Shrines for Selva Vinayagar, Suryan, Srinivasa Perumal, Naalvar, ( Appar, Sundarar, Thirugnana Sammandar, Manikavasagar), Kasi Viswanathar, Kasi Visalakshi, Sai Baba, Pamban Swamigal, Annapoorani, Lakshmi, Saraswathi, Dhakshinamoorthy, Maha Vishnu, Durgai and Chandran. There is a separate enclosure for the Navagraham. On either side of the Temple there are two huge Mandapams where Marriages could be conducted with ease. Many local Villagers and people from Vellore and beyond too, make it a point to solemnize and perform their family wedding here. Since it is close to Vellore and Sathuvachari fetching anything becomes so easy. It is believed that those whose Wedding is performed here very soon visit this Temple within the next few years along with their new born kid. The entire Temple is neatly tiled and every nook and corner of its walls and ceilings are gorgeously painted with different colours making it so eye catching to anyone. The new addition to the Temple is the 92 Feet coloured Idol which has been safely placed on the Hill so that Devotees could see it even from a distant place. After the inaugration of this Idol in June 2025 several Devotees have started making a beeline to this Temple. Kiruthigai, Thiru Karthigai, Shasti, Vaikasi Visagam are celebrated in a grand manner. In recent years this Temple is coming into lime light for performing Family Wedding.
