Sri Varadharaja Perumal Temple is located close to Minjur Railway Station in Ponneri Taluk. The full name of the Temple is Sri Perundevi Thaayar Samedha Sri Varadharaja Perumal Temple and it has lots of striking similarities to that of Sri Varadharaja Perumal Temple in Kancheepuram. It is located exactly to the rear of Sri Ekambaranathar Temple in Minjur. The Rajagopuram of Sri Varadharaja Perumal Temple is East facing and is made up of five tiers. There is a Neivedhya Peedam or a Bali Peedam, a Dwajasthambam or a Kodi Maram and a West facing Sub Shrine of Garudalwar looking towards the Moolasthanam. Beyond it is a Gopuram containing the coloured Idols of Sri Varadaraja Perumal flanked by His Consorts. On either side of this there are coloured Idols of Garudalwar. This Mandapam looks highly impressive to the eyes of the Devotees since all the pillars in it and its ceiling have been painted with contrast gorgeous colours. Any Devotees looking at these would never turn their eyes away from them and may keep seeing them for a few minutes. This Mandapam consists of the Idols of Dasavatharam and the Ashtalakshmis which would impress any onlookers. There are two huge Dwara Baalaga Idols who stand guard before the Moolasthanam. To the right before the Moolasthanam is an enclosure in which the Moolavar and Urchavamoorthy Idols of the 12 Alwars are juxtaposed South facing. The Idols of Viswaksenar and Sudharashanar within this enclosure are East facing while the Idol of Anjaneyar is West facing. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Sri Varadaraja Perumal stands East facing along with His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. The Urchavamoorthy Idols of Sri Varadaraja Perumal, Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi too are within the same Moolasthanam. Along with them the Idols of Navaneetha Krishnan, Kothanda Ramar, Seetha and Lakshmana too are seen in the Moolasthanam.
The Consort of Sri Varadharaja Perumal is known here as Sri Perundevi Thaayar. The Shrine of Sri Perundevi Thaayar is located in the outer peripheral of the Temple in a multi pillared Mandapam. The Gopuram of this Shrine has the Idols of Gajalakshmi in the centre with Garudalwar and Anjaneyar kneeling on the flanks. On top of these are the Idols of Thirumann, Srichurnam, Sangu, Chakkaram and they are flanked by two Garudalwars. Sri Perundevi Thaayar who is East facing is seen in a seated posture and Her Urchavamoorthy Idol too is seen within Her Shrine. Next to this is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Chakkarathalwar behind whom is a West facing Yoga Narasimhar. There is another East facing Sub Shrine in which three Naaga Devatha Idols could be seen. Next to this is the East facing Sub Shrine of Aandal. On top of the threshold of this Sub Shrine is a coloured Idol of Sri Pallikonda Ranganathar seen along with Sri Devi, Bhoo Devi and Brahmma. Goddess Andal is seen in a standing posture and the Urchavamoorthy Idol of Aandal is within the same Sub Shrine. The Sub Shrine of Udayavar / Ramanujar is South facing in the outer peripheral and the Urchavamoorthy Idol too is found within the Sub Shrine. The Temple consists of a huge Vasantha Mandapam on the right while entering and it is stacked with a few Temple Vaahanams.
