Sri Vedanarayana Temple or Matsya Narayana Temple is a Hindu-Vaishnavite Temple located at Nagalapuram town in Chittoor District, of Andhra Pradesh state, India. The Temple is devoted to Lord Vishnu as Matsya (fish) symbol and is alluded to as Matsya Narayana or Veda Narayana. This is one of the rare Temples in India where Vishnu is portrayed in Matsya symbol, the primary incarnation of Dashavatara. The Temple is celebrated for Surya Pooja Utsavam,considered as a cosmic wonder. Amid this celebration the sun-rays will specifically fall on the directing God Vedanarayaana in the Garbhagriha for three days of a year. The Sunrays travel a separation of 360 feet beginning from Temple Tower(Goupuram) towards Garbha griha at night. On first day the beams will stop at foot of the Deity, second day on Navel and third day on Crown. Surya Pooja Utsavam is one of the essential celebrations in the Temple amid which the beams of Sun straight forwardly fall on to the directing God in Garbhagriha which is confronting west amid night before nightfall.
