About This Hotel

Woodville Palace is a famous heritage hotel in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, known for its royal history and colonial-era architecture. It used to be the summer residence of the Jubbal royal family and was later converted into a hotel.
History

First owner recorded in 1866 – General Sir William Rose Mansfield (British Army Commander-in-Chief).

Later purchased by Maharaja Bhagvat Singh of Gondal and gifted to Rani Leila Ba of Jubbal.

In 1938, Raja Rana Bhagat Chand rebuilt it as a grand summer palace.

In 1977, the palace was partly converted into a heritage hotel.
