Sri Kannudaiya Nayaki Amman Temple is located in a distant place called Nattarasankkottai in Sivagangai District. This Temple has a gorgeously painted 5 tiered North facing Rajagopuram. A huge Trident is seen embeded on the Rajagopuram making it look conspicuous. Facing the Rajagopuram is a huge Pushkarani or a Temple Tank. Devotees may not be able to enter through the Northern gate situated close to the Pushkarani since it is closed and under lock and key. Devotees coming to this Temple could enter it through the Eastern entrance or Western entrance and they have erected a tin sheet roofing on both these entrances for the sake of the Devotees. There are rows of shops on both these entrances selling all Divine and Pooja articles. Devotees entering the Temple through the Western flank can have a Darshan of Siddhi Vinayagar. Instead of the usual Dwara Baalakas another small Vinayagar and a Murugan stand guard before this Siddhi Vinayagar Sub Shrine. At the outset there is a huge multi pillared Mandapam which consists of mammoth pillars having intricately designed carvings on them. On entering the Temple there is a Dwajasthamabam or Kodimaram, a Neivedhya Peedam and an Idol of Vedhalam which is seen in a standing posture facing the Moolasthanam. Just before the entrance of the Moolasthanam there are two coloured Idols of Dwara Baalagis who are seen in a kneeling posture. Also at the threshold of the Moolasthanam there are again two more black Dwara Baalagi Idols who are known as Dwara Sakthi. In the North facing Sanctum Sanctorum the Swayambhu Omnipotent Goddess who is known here as Arulmigu Kannudaiya Nayagi Amman is seen in a standing posture with six hands and beneath Her Divine Feet it could be seen that the Demon is crushed. The sight within the Sanctum Sanctorum would send goosebumps since its so awe-inspiring. Close to one of the Dwara Sakthi Idol is an Idol for Vinayagar near which all the Urchavamoorthy Idols are safely kept in an enclosure. The story behind this is that centuries ago when the cowherds used to carry Milk they tripped at a particular place and their entire Milk was spilled and this continued for several days. Intrigued, the King then had a dream in which he was mandated to dig that particular place. On excavating it they found the Idol of Kannudaya Nayagi Amman and due to its weight the villagers found it cumbersome to carry it any further and so placed the Idol facing Southwards and went home. The next day morniung what the villagers saw was astounding. The South faced Idol of Kannudaya Nayagi Amman had automatically turned North facing and none could change its position or direction thereafter. It was then that they decided to build a Temple around this Idol. The outer peripheral of the Temple is kept meticulously clean and there are multiple pillars. The walls around this corridor have beautifully drawn Images of the Amman depicting Her History in full. There are rows of Ammi and Kuzhavi or a rectangular stone with a pestle in which Turmeric is ground and smeared for the Amman. The outer peripheral has a few East facing Naga Devatha Idols close to whish there is a Sub Shrine for Abhisheka Vinayagar. The Temple's Golden Chariot is safely preserved in an enclosure within the outer peripheral and a huge painting of Kannudaya Nayagi Amman is drawn on the Temple Chariot's enclosure. There is a Sub Shrine for Veerabadra Swamy in the outer enclosure who is seen East facing and in a standing posture. Also at one end of the outer peripheral they have placed an Aatukal for pounding Maa Vilakku Maavu with Rice and Jaggery. The Temple's office is located within the Temple premises. Aadi Month, Navarathri are some of the Functions celebrated in a grand manner.
