The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Goddess Bhattarika and She is considered to be an incarnation of Goddess Sakthi. The locals here have immense faith on this Goddess and Hence on most days of the year the Temple is flooded with Devotees. It is Believed that Sage Parasurama prayed to Goddess Durga here. This Temple is located on a small hillock on the banks of River Mahanadhi. There is a an Idol of Parasurama here in this Temple. Festivals like Pana Sankaranthi, Akshaya Tritiyai, Dussehra and Durga Pooja are celebrated in a grand manner here.
