This Temple is situated on the Parvathi Mandhir Road in Kathwara on the outskirts of Lucknow City in UP. The Temple is located on the banks of River Gomthi and is supposed to be around 300 years old. The exact origin of the earlier Temple is still unknown but it is strongly believed that the invaders of the 12th Century had demolished it. The Presiding Deity is Chandrika Devi, an incarnation of Goddess Durga. The Deity is carved out of a single rock with 3 heads. There are several brass bells placed on the Mandap opposite to the Sanctum. It is believed that Lakshmana's son had come here with his horse while performing the Ashwameth Yag and during that time he was Blessed by Goddess Chandrika Devi. Barbreek son of Godothkach was fond of this Goddess and has Prayed to Her here quite often. The Temple gains significance right from the Ramayana days till now. The UP Government attaches a lot of importance to this Temple from Tourism point of view. This Temple has been mentioned in the Holy books of Skand and Karma Puraan.
