The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Chaya Someshwara and He is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. This Temple is built by following the Trikutalayam style of architecture which consists of three Sanctum Sanctorum. Each Sanctum Sanctorum is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Surya. This Temple has many intricately carved Pillars and these carvings depicts many historic scenes from Ramayana, Mahabarathas and other Puranas. This Temple has stepped Pyrimidal Shikaras and is believed to have been built in the 11th and 12th century during the Kunduru Chodas Era and Prataparudra-1 of Kakatiya Empire. This Temple is located very close to Panchala Someswara Temple. The Pillars of the Ardha Mandapam is built in such a way that Unified Shadow falls on the Lingam throughout the Day. The name Chaya Someswara is derived since Chaya means Shadow in Telugu. There is a huge Sacred Tank in front of this Temple Complex. This Temple attracts huge number of Devotees during the Maha Shivarathri Days.
