Jayanthi Shaktipeeth Shri Durga Temple, Nartiang, Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya

This Temple is located in Nartiang which is approximately 61 Kms away from Shillong. The Presiding Deity is  known as Nartiang Devi or Jayanti and She is an incarnation of Goddess Durga. Here Lord Kala Bhairavar is known as Kamadishwar. This Temple is an ancient Temple and is believed to have been built around 600 years ago. It is a very important Temple in this region and is considered  as one of the Sakthi Peeths dedicated to Goddess Durga. A Welcome Arch leads to this Temple. Religious functions of this Temple is not done in a traditional manner like those of the Temples situated in the plains. Instead here there is a fusion of Hindu and Khasi traditions in all the ceremonies performed here. During the days of Durga Pooja this Temple draws a huge number of devotees from the far and near and at that time Goat Sacrifice at the Altar of this Temple is an important happening. In recent years Ramakrishna Mission has taken over the renovation work pertaining to this Temple and have laid a tin sheet roofing with a golden colour tomb. Navarathri and Durga Pooja days attracts a lot of Devotees.

Temple Timing: 7 AM to 7 PM The Temple does not close during the day time.
