Akshardham Temple is also called as Swaminarayan Mandhir and it is located in Vaishali Nagar, Chitrakoot in Jaipur.  This Temple not only has historical and cultural significance but also has important heritage and shows glimpses of it to the visitors coming here.  This Temple is supposed to have been built between the 19th and 20th centuries.  Swaminarayan who is an incarnation of Maha Vishnu is the Presiding Deity.  The Temple has a beautiful gardens and several fountains.  Its uncommon style of architecture is one of the main reasons as to why it attracts so many outside tourists along with its Devotees.  The Gold and Silver Jewellery found decorated on the Presiding Deity is simply breathe taking.  The Temple has various other Hindu Gods carved all over.   Since Jaipur is a tourist place there are lots of tourists from India and Abroad visiting this Temple along with the Devotees.  After dusk, when the Temple is illuminated with coloured lights it is so eye captivating and a delight to watch not only for the kids but for every Devotee visiting here.  This Temple  has been added in many of the Jaipur Daily Tour Packages.
