The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Naganatha Swami and  He is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Nagavalli Ambal. This Temple is equivalent to Thillai Chidambaram Temple. It is believed that the Presiding Deity of this Temple suddenly appeared from nowhere as a Swayambu Moorthy and granted  Darshan to Lord  Vishnu. There is a five tiered Rajagopuram facing East. There are two Utsava Moorthy namely Chandrasekarar and Kalyana Sundarar.  Lord Thiagaraja Swami can be seen on the right of the Sanctum Sanctorum. There are Sub Shrine for Gods and Goddesses like Juradevar, Aiyyappan, Dakshinamoorthy, Naga Kannikas, Valampuri Vinayaka, Kanni Ragu Bhagawan, Javeli Nathar, Murugan, Thatha Purushalingam, Nalvar, Brahma, Durgai etc.  The Sacred Tank of this Temple is known as Chandra Theertham. This Temple is believed to remove all adverse effects of Naga Dhosham, Kalasarpa Dhosham, Mangalaya Dhosham and Puthra Dosham. Devotees who  visit this Temple offer corn which is equal to their weight when their wishes are fulfilled. Festivals like Maha Shivarathri, Prodosham, Karthikai Deepam are celebrated in a grand manner.
