The full name of the Temple is Arulmigu Rajagopalaswami Kulasekara Alwar Temple and it is located in a far flung village called Mannarkoil which is a few Kilometres away from the Thirunelveli to Tenkasi Road. Mannarkovil was formerly known as Vedhapuri and later it was called as Rajendra Vinnagar. Some consider this Temple on par with Srirangam Temple because this Temple lies between two Rivers namely Thamirabharani and Gadana. This is a East facing Temple. There is a coloured Gopuram built on a multi pillared Mandapam and beyond it is a 5 tiered East facing coloured Rajagopuram. This multi pillared Mandapam has to be reached by 5 to 6 steep steps. There are beautifully coloured Images on the left and right sides of this Mandapam. Sage Valmiki, Brahmma, Viganasa Maharishi and Dasavathara Images, Kambar, Vasishtar, Sandeebani Maharishi find a place on the left side. Sri Bainar, Sri Vaisumbayaner, Sri Jaimidhi, Sri Seemandhu, Veda Vyasar, Parasara Maharishi, Alwars, Andal, Manavala Mamunigal, Emperumanar Images are seen on the right side. Next to this multi pillared Mandapam is the East facing 5 tiered Rajagopuram which is visible partially due to the obstruction of this Mandapam. Beyond the Rajagopuram is another multi pillared Mandapam wherein there is a huge Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a Dwajasthambam. A Garudalwar Sannadhi facing the Moolasthanam is seen here. To the right is the Sub Shrine for Sri Ramanujar / Sri Vaadhi Kesari Azhagiya Manavaala Jeeyar. Many Devotees may misconstrue Sri Rajagopalaswami as the Moolavar. In reality it is not so, Sri Rajagopalaswamy is the Urchavar whereas the Moolavar or the Presiding Deity is Sri Vedha Narayana Perumal. It is believed that Brighu Munivar and Markendeya Maharishi were instrumental in installing the Presiding Deity here. The Sanctum Sanctorum is East facing and the Idol of Sri Vedha Narayana Perumal is seen in a standing posture. It is believed that the Idol of Sri Vedha Narayana Perumal is made of invaluable herbs. In the Ranga Mandapam the Urchavamoorthy Idol of Sri Rajagopala Swamy is seen along with Andal, Garudalwar, Ramar, Lakshmanar, Seetha, Krishnar, Achranayans, all the Alwars inclusive of Kulasekara Alwar. Devotees who wish to reach the Moolasthanam at the ground floor ought to climb 5 to 6 steps through an entrance. Likewise while coming out of the Moolasthanam there is again 5 to 6 steps in the opposite direction through which the Devotees could come out.   This Temple has separate East facing Shrines for Vedhavalli Thaayar and Bhuvanavalli Thaayar. The North facing Yoga Narasimhar Sannadhi and Dasavatharam Sannadhi are found close to Vedhavalli Thaayar Sannadhi whereas the Sorga Vaasal or Paramapatha Vaasal is located close to the Bhuvanavalli Thaayar Sannadhi. As already said this Temple has 3 tiers of Moolavar Sannadhi, and to reach them there are two separate staircases. In the first floor Moolasthanam Sri Veda Narayana Perumal is seen in a sitting posture. He is East facing and flanked by Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. Along with them Brihu Munivar and Markandeya Maharishi too are seen. Just outside the threshold of the first floor Moolasthanam are two Images of Dwara Baalakas. There are two more coloured Idols of Dwara Baalakas beyond these Images. There are steps leading to the second floor Moolasthanam. Here Sri Vedha Narayana Perumal is seen in a East facing Sayana Kolam. He is seen in a reclined posture atop the Aadhi Seshan along with Sri Devi, Bhoo Devi and Brahmma. In the outer peripheral the entire flooring is neatly cemented and there is a South facing Sub Shrine for Vishwaksenar. This Temple is very unique since it has a separate Sub Shrine for Kulasekara Alwar who attained Moksham here. Close to this Sub Shrine is the Thiruvaimozhi Mandapam. The Temple has a massive compound wall and a Nandhavanam. There is space for parking a few vehicles. This Temple follows the Tenkalai Sampradayam. The Chief Purohit of this Temple Shri Narasimha Gopalan has to be applauded and appreciated for his selfless service towards the betterment of this Temple.
