The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Tripursundari who is none other than Durgah. The Presiding Deity is also called as Sodashi or Lalitha. This Temple is built on the banks of River Narmadha. Kalchuri King Lakshmikarna had a big hand in building this beautiful Temple. It is believed that the Idol of The Presiding directly came out of the earth while building this Temple. This Temple dates back to 11th Century. The Idol of the Presiding Deity is three Headed and each Head all three forms of Dhurga as Kali, Lakshmi and Saraswathy. This Temple also has Yagasala to perform various Yagams. Any Devotee entering this Temple would find Coconuts wrapped in red cloth hanging all over the area. Praying and indulging in such an act is believed to fulfill the desires and ambitions of the Devotees. Since this Temple is dedicated to Durgah Devi, Dhurga Pooja a 10 day festival is celebrated in a grand manner and Devotees from far flung areas visit this Temple during these days. On all 9 days of Navaratri, Fairs are conducted inside the Temple premises.
