Shri Jagatpeeta Brahmma Temple is also known as Sri Brahmma Temple. This Temple is located in the Temple Town of Pushkar in Ajmer District of Rajasthan and is very close to the Pushkar Lake making the Temple and the Lake inseparable. Pushkar is called as a Temple Town because around 500 Temples of which nearly 75 are big enough are located in and around Pushkar. The Temple has a very attractive Welcome Arch and right from the steps till the Sanctum Sanctorum the entire Temple has been built with marble stones.

The Present Temple is believed to have been built in the 14th century but it is generally said that it was built more than 2000 years whereas few other say that this Temple was built by Sage Vishwamithra. Jagathguru Sri Aadhi Shankaracharya had a big hand in developing and promoting this Temple to its present level. Maharaj Shri Jawat Raj of Ratlam made several additions to this Temple without disturbing the ancient design. The Temple has a distinctly looking red Shikaara or Vimanam. The Sanctum Sanctorum looks Divine with a four headed Sri Brahmma Idol and His Consort Sri Gayathri Devi next to Him who are seen in a seated posture. It is proudly stated that this is the only solitary Temple which is dedicated to Sri Brahmma in the whole of India. Opposite to the Sanctum Sanctorum or Garbhagriha there is a four pillared Mandapam beneath which a Silver Turtle is kept on an elevated podium. Many in India consider Pushkar as one among the top 10 Temple Towns. A Dip in the Holy Lake of Pushkar is considered very important since it is believed that such Devotees would be cured of all their ailments and would lead a Blessed Life.
