The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Rama. Though Lord Rama being the prominent Deity of Raghunath Temple there are seven other Sub Temples pertaining to this Ragunath Temple that is dedicated to Lords Shiva, Vishnu, Surya and Chandra.  Each Sub Temple has it's own particular Shikhara. This Temple is constructed by following simple North Indian Style of Archirecture and is constructed using bricks. All the Shikhara of this Temple is covered using Gold Platings. This Temple is built on the Nothern Bank of River Tawi in the old part of Jammu City.  The walls of the magnificent Temple complex has three hundred murals which includes the images of many Gods and Goddesses.  The murals depict the life history of Lord Rama And Lord Krishna. The Temple  construction was started  by Maharaja Gulab Singh in the year 1835 and was completed by His son Maharaja Ranbir Singh in the year 1860. This Temple complex has a School and a Library which preserves over 6000 manuscripts in many Indian Languages. Since Jammu being a tourist spot every year lakhs of Tourists visit  this Temple along with other normal Devotees.
