Sri Sita Ramachandraswamy Temple, Bhadrachalam, Bhadradri Kothagudem District, Telangana

This Temple is located on the left bank of River Godavari in Bhadrachalam Town of Telangana State. The Presiding Deity is Sri Ramachandra Swamy who is considered as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Bhadrachalam derives its name from Bhadragiri Hills and is considered to be Nature's Beauty. The Temple has 4 entrances and around 50 steps to be climbed to reach the Temple. Ramayana is beautifully portrayed in white colour on the Saffron walls of the Temple. The Shikara Crowning of the Temple is carved from a Single Granite Block weighing nearly 36 Tonnes. It dates back to the 17th Century and is supposed to be built by the then Thasildhar and later a Saint, Gopanna of this area. The Sanctum is considered to be Swayambhu. Lord Rama is seen sitting here in Padmasana Posture with Goddess Sita on His lap and Lakshmana standing left to Him. Bhadrachalam and its sorrounding areas in those days were dense forests known as Dhandakaranya. The Parnasala were Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana lived is closeby to the main Temple. The footprints of Sita Devi are still said to be preserved here. A replica of the Golden Deer and an image of Ravana are found there. There are two Shrines for Lord Anjaneya and they are called as Abhaya Anajaneya and Dasa Anjaneya. There are Sub Shrines for Goddess Mahalakshmi and Andal. A replica of Sabari offering fruits to Lord Rama is depicted outside the Main entrance as Sabari Moksham. It is a habit here that the Abhishekam in the main Sanctum is performed only to Rama's Feet. Adi Sankaracharya had visited Bhadrachalam and had named the Main Deity as Sri Vaikuntha Raman. The Brahmotsavam, Sri Rama Navami and Vijayadasami attracts lakhs of Devotees. There are several shops around the Temple Complex and apart from the Temple Cottages there are several other Hotels for the Devotees to stay. The system of Worship in this Temple is similar to that of Sri Ranganathar Temple, Srirangam in Tamil Nadu. Ample Car parking is available in more than 2 places. A shop selling all types of Divine products is available along with another Cloth Store selling all types of Divine Clothes and Vasthrams. Photography and Videography are strictly prohibited and the Devotees have to deposit their Mobile Phones and Cameras at a counter exclusively meant for it. A Ghoshala is also well maintained close to this counter. Many Devotees who write the name of Lord Ramachandraswamy as Sri Rama Jayam deposit such offerings at a repository meant for it. A well maintained Library and an auditorium is also found. The Temple Premises is meticulously kept clean and the TTD who run the administration of this Temple monitor it very well. Differnt types of Paid dharshan are available to the Devotees along with the normal darshan.
