This Temple is also called Matsya Narayana Perumal Temple.  This Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.  He is called as Veda Narayana or Matsya Narayana Perumal.  The Idol of Maha Vishnu is flanked by Sree Devi and Bhoo Devi.   A separate Shrine for Vedavathi Thaayar is also found.  This Temple is built on the Vijayanagara style of Architechture.  It was built by King Krishnadevaraya during the final years of his reign.  Nagamamba, Mother of Krishnadevaraya was the source of inspiration to build this Temple.   In those days Nagalapuram was called as Nagamambapuram.  Surya Pooja is a very important festival here.  Three days in a year the Sun Rays falls on the Main Deity.  There are sub Shrines for Lakshmi Narasimhar, Anjaneyar and Aandal too.  It has a huge Flag Mast and a lovely Nandhavanam too.  This Temple is believed to cure skin diseases and improve Kids education. Free Prasadams are given to all Devotees visiting here. TTD runs the Administration of this Temple.
