Christ Church located at Lakkar Bazar of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh is one of the second oldest Church in the entire India. This Church was built in order to serve the growing population of Anglican British community in Shimla. This Church complex is located on a ridge and the silhouette of Christ Church is visible even from a very long distance. This Church Complex was designed by Colonel J.T amd it was built between 1846 and 1857. Christ Church is built by following the Neo Gothic style of architecture. The interior of this Church is plain and has a stained glass in the east wing which represents the distinct Christian virtue. Though this Church is painted using monotonous Creamy-lemon Paint,  it shows the great architecture of British Era. Every year this Church has attracted thousands of Devotees from all far flung areas. The foundation Stone of this Church was laid down by Bishop Reverend Thomas Daltry. This Temple complex was built by many skilled Engineers and it took nearly 12 years to get it completed. Nearly 40,000 to 50,000 Indian Rupees was spent to  complete the construction of this Entire Church Complex.
