This Navapaashana Navagraha Temple is located in a small village known as Devipattinam in Ramanathapuram or Ramnad District. There is a small Welcome Arch which looks faded and this leads to the Main Temple. The Temple is West facing and there is a small entrance which leads the Devotees to the recently built causeway. This Temple is dedicated to the Nine Planets of the Solar system. In reality the Temple is built inside the Bay of Bengal. There is no conventional Rajagopuram or a Dwajasthambam leading to this Temple. Instead there is a small building with an entrance and to the right of it the Temple Office functions.

There is a multi pillared causeway which leads to the Navapaashana Navagraha Temple from the main land. All the Nine Navagraha Idols are submerged either a little or fully depending on the tide existing on that day. On some days Devotees are allowed to take a Holy Bath before they offer rituals to their forefathers who had passed away. It is believed that such rituals would make the Souls of the Forefathers rest in peace. A Temple Purohit is posted at the Temple for performing any divine rituals and a small fee is levied at the Office for this purpose.

Some of the important Rituals for the Dosham which are performed here are as follows: Kalathra Dosham, Naga Dosham, Mangalya Dosham, Sarpa Dosham, Pithur Dosham, Ayull Dosham or Life Expectancy Dosham, Nakshatra Dosham, Sani Dosham, Brahmmahathi Dosham, Sevvai Dosham, Kshethra Sangalppa Navagraha Poojai, Raahu Kethu Poojai and Annual Ceremony for the Ancestors. During Aadi Amavasai, Thai Ammavasai etc Devotees not only from Tamil Nadu but from other North and Noth Eastern States congregate here in overwhelming numbers.

This Navagraha Dosha Parihaara Temple in Devipattinam is located on the Sea Coast of Bay of Bengal. As a result of this it not only attracts Devotees but also lends a scenic beauty to the existing Temple with a lovely ambience of the Sea and Sky merging together. In short it is a treat to watch its ambience and it is eye captivating. Male Devotees can enter the Temple Premises wearing Pant or Dhoti while Female Devotees are allowed with either a Saree or a Salwar Kameez with Shawl. It is customery for the Male Devotees to remove their upper wear such as Banian or Shirt in case they choose to perform a Parihaara Pooja. Devotees who come here could park their vehicles with effortless ease since it can even hold around 50 vehicles at a time.
