This Temple is also known as Kailasagiri Murugan Hill Temple.  It is located in Oomarabad which is very close to Ambur.  Old timers refer this place as Gadambur too.  This Temple is said to have been demolished during the Mughal period and it was rebuilt during the British regime.  Close to the main road is a small Welcome Arch with Om Muruga on it.  At the foot Hill of the Temple is a Sub Shrine for Veerabadra Swamy who is supposed to be the local village Deity and Devotees make it a point to Pray Him before their journey to Kailasagiri Hill.  At the foothill is a Temple Office which is closed for most part of the day.  Next to it and very close to the foot steps leading to the Temple is a small Sub Shrine in which a Shiva Lingam is kept.  The next Sub Shrine is occupied by Lord Ganesha.  There is an Ambal Idol and an Anjaneya Swamy Idol too and on the opposite direction there is a Nandhi Vaahanam.  Close to these Sub Shrines is a Sacred Neem Tree which is smeared with Turmeric and Kumkum.   The Temple can be reached by two ways.  There is a flight of steep steps through which Devotees have to reach the Temple.  But for the sick and elderly to take the steps and reach the Temple would be a tough and formidable proposition.  There is a Anjaneya Swamy Idol etched midway in one of the stone side wall of the steps.  Devotees need to be very careful while reaching the Hill Temple by steps when they go along with their family, ladies, kids etc since the entire forest area flanking both sides of the staircase has been taken away by misled youths and drunkards who keep drinking right from dawn to dusk.  There is a motorable Ghat road too but it is being dug up and relaid.  Hence those going by car too are forced to abandon their vehicle and reach the hilltop Temple by footsteps only.  The hill top Temple has a main Shrine where Lord Murugan faces East and Blesses His Devotees along with His two Consorts Valli and Devasena.  There is a small stone Dwajasthambam opposite to the Sanctum Sanctorum.  Close to the Main Shrine of Lord Murugan is another Sub Shrine where Lord Ganesha Idol is kept and Prayed.  Both the places has a permanent concrete roofing and has been painted with various colours.  Both the Shrines have a temporary tin sheet roofing.  On the outer peripheral of the Temple is a huge tree beneath which another Vinayagar Vigraham and a  Naga Devatha are kept.  The Temple has a Pushkarani with few Lotus plants but this Sacred Tank needs a cleaning.  Since this Temple is located in a hillock there seems to be a lot of caves.  Hence during the earlier times it is believed that this hillock was occupied by many powerful Siddhars.  Though the Temple has a specific timing, it is kept open just for the traditional prayers during the early part of the forenoon. Hence Devotees who wish to visit this Temple are better advised to contact the given number through phones before they venture for it.  Aadi Kiruthigai, Karthigai Deepam and Thai Kiruthigai are celebrated in a grand manner.
