The Kalikambal Temple is a Hindu Temple committed to Sri Kalikambal and Sri Kamadeswarar. The location of the Temple is such that reaching here by car is next to impossible due to the narrow lanes. It is situated in Parry's Corner or George Town area of Mannady or Mannadi in Chennai. The Temple is situated in Thambu Chetty Street, a very famous road or street running parallel to Rajaji Salai. The Temple was initially built near the sea coast within Fort Saint George before coming up in this present place.  Chatrapathi Shivaji, the Marata Emperor was very fond of Goddess Kalikambal and made many a stealthy visit even during the Moghul Period. He had a big hand in supporting this favourite Temple of his. Likewise the great Tamil Poet Subramaniya Bharathi was so fond of Goddess Kalikambal and Kalikambal Temple that he visited this Temple even when in penury and in ill health. He has sung many famous songs and written many Tamil articles about Goddess Kalikambal which were published in the Tamil Dailies. This Temple always had the support and backing of different class of people in the society even during the Moghul and the British days. Reaching the Temple by Metro and Parrys Corner Bus Terminus is so easy for any Devotee.
