What originally started as a small Shiva Temple on a Hillock and later got transformed to a huge full fledged Dhakshin Kali Temple in the year 1973. Though Goddess Dhakshin Kali is the Main Deity there are Shrines for Lord Shiva and Radha Govindh too. The Temple is setup in a prime location close to the Bengali Market. The entire complex is well illuminated with coloured lights, flags and festoons not only during Kali Pooja Days but also on all other cultural festival days. The Temple Priests give equal importance to all the Shrines and offer poojas with utmost devotion. There are several rooms offered at a very cheap rate for the sake of Devotees. There is a canteen and a well maintained library too. A Yoga Center is also found within the complex. The greatest satisfaction for any Devotee visiting this Temple is that they are allowed to walk upto the Shivling and pour water as a mark of respect in an act of oblation.
