This Temple is located in Jagannathar Kovil Street in Kaanathur or Kannathur, Reddikuppam in a locality known as Sunrise Avenue in ECR. The Presiding Deity here is Sri Puri Jagannath. The Temple has a huge compound wall and a strong gate and is built in a typical Odisha style. On entering the Temple we have a Sub Shrine for Lord Ganesha or Bada Ganesha carved out of a black stone and opposite to it, is a Tulasi Maadam differently placed on the head of a woman. Next to it is a Sub Shrine for Kasi Vishwanathar with a Shiva lIngam Idol and a painting of Lord Shiva on the inner wall of this Sub Shrine. They have erected a Temple Kitchen close to this place and its called a Prasada Graha. A Banyan Tree, a Neem Tree and a Peepal Tree, all 3 of them inter-woven is seen and a podium is built around it and the Idols of Garudan, Owl, Elephant, Mouse, Lion and a Peacock are placed beneath it. While we go to the Sanctum Sanctorum a few steps have to be crossed and before it a huge Dwajasthambam made out of black stone is seen, and the images of Raahu, Pillayar, Dasavatharams are carved on it and placed on the back of the Turtle, which again is placed on a Chariot. The entire Sanctum Sanctorum is seen in black colour. The roof of the Sanctum has colourrful drawings. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Lord Puri Jagannath is majestically seen and flanked by Balarama and Goddess Subhadra on either side. On the outer peripheral of the Sanctum Sanctorum idols of Varahar, Narasingar and Thiruvikramar is seen. Just below the Sanctum Sanctorum is a Meditation Hall built out of a white Marble stone and Image of Baktha Hanuman and Yagna Narayanan are seen back to back and more than 50 Devotees could sit here and Meditate. On the ground level there is a small statue for Buddha in Pink and Gold colour. There is also a Sub Shrines for Maa Vimala and Maha Lakshmi and close to it the Temple runs a small Library and a staff quarters meant for their Purohits. The Navagraha Sub Shrine is quite unusal from the Sub Shrines of other Temple since all the Nine Navagraha Idols are placed in a single file, one next to the other. Close to the Navagraha Sub Shrine is a Temple Chariot. The entire Temple is spick and span and Poojas are offered in vernacular Odisha or Hindi by the North Indian Purohits. The Temple and the Charitable Trust viz. Sri Jagannath Spiritual, Educational Cultural Trust have to be complimented for the grand manner in which the great Temple is run and maintained on a daily basis.
