The Temple is located in a small village known as Kuruvalappar Kovil in Udayarpalayam Taluk of Ariyalur District. It is quite close to Gangaikonda Cholapuram. A small welcome arch has been erected on the main road which leads to the Temple. The Presiding Deity is known as Veeranarayana Perumal or Veda Narayana Perumal. The Presiding Deity is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and His Consort here is known as Maragadhavalli Thayar. There are 2 Gopurams with 2 layered Compound Wall leading to the Sanctum. The Temple is of Dravidian Architecture and was built during the Chola Dynasty around 1400 years ago. King Rajendra Chola was a Saivaite who built the nearby Shiva Temple in Gangaikonda Cholapuram. But his second wife Cheramadevi was a Vishnu Devotee. She took great interest in Veera Narayana Perumal and built this Temple with the materials believed to have been sent by King Rajendra Chola to Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple. Till a few years ago this Temple was in a dilapidated state and in ruins. Then the Chennai based Srimathi Sundaravalli Memorial Trust Authorities took keen interest in the Temple affairs. They renovated and built the entire Temple Shrines, Compound Walls and all other Sub Shrines within the Temple Complex and gave it a new look. The Trust also liberally contributed for many of the jewels in the Sanctum and other Shrines. Apart from the Sanctum, Maragadhavalli Thayar has a separate Shrine and so do have Lord Rama and Andal. The Temple has an exclusive Pushkarani / Temple Tank of its own and called by the name Swetha Padma Pushkarani. The Temple Samprokshanam was performed in 2014 during which time all Priests from several other Temples partook in the function. The Temple has a Tinned Roofing Marriage Hall in the name of Maragadhavalli Thayar. There is a Madappalli or a Temple Kitchen which caters to the needs of all Devotees. Any tourist or Devotee coming to the nearby Gangaikonda Cholapuram would never miss coming here. Thirupullani B.Rangaraja Bhattachariar stood thick and thin during difficult times. Currently this Temple is maintained excellently by the Sundaravalli Memorial Trust, though the Temple has been recently taken over by the Tamil Nadu Government. This Temple is considered as Bhargava Kshethram.
