Puliarai is located in Shenkottai Taluk in Tenkasi District. The location of the Temple is picturesque and close to the Kerala Border on the Western Ghats. The full name of the Temple is Sree Navaneetha Krishnaswamy Temple but the locals refer this temple as Sri Navaneetha Krishnan Temple. This Temple is situated in a resdiential locality of Puliarai and the lanes leading to the Temple from the main road are narrow. At the outset the Temple has a colourful Welcome Arch which is East facing with the name of the Temple written on it. Going beyond the first Welcome Arch is another East facing Welcome Arch with a Thirumann Srichurnam and a Sangu & Chakkram symbol on it. Beyond this there is a cemented pathway leading the Devotees to the Temple. To the left of this cemented pathway is the Temple's Madapalli or Temple Kitchen and to the right of this cemented pathway is the Temple's Bajanai Madam which looks impressive with its concrete building.

The actual Temple is also East facing and the walls near the Temple's entrance is beautifully painted with gorgeous colours with 2 Elephant heads drawn one on each side of the entrance and they can be called as Gaja Muhangal. The entrance has a coloured Gopuram in which Sri Navaneethakrishnan who is the Presiding Deity is seen East facing and centrally standing as a coloured stucco Idol. On either side of Him there is a Sangu and a Chakkram which are flanked by Sri Garudalwar and Sri Anjaneyar who are seen in a kneeling posture. The entrance to the Maha Mandapam has a golden threshold. The Sanctum Sanctorum or the Moolasthanam of this Temple is East facing. There are no Dwara Baalaka Idols as seen in other Temples. Instead there is an Idol of Sri Ganapathy on the left whereas Sri Sankara Narayanan's Idol is to the right. Close to the East facing Idol of Sri Sankaranarayanan is a South facing Idol of Sri Viswaksenar. Facing the Moolasthanam and looking Westwards is a Garudalwar Idol who is seen in a standing posture. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity is known as Sri Navaneethakrishnan or Sri Navaneetha Krishnaswamy which means that He is Sri Krishna with Butter. He is seen East facing and in a standing posture. He looks resplendent and dazzling to the eyes of His Devotees. It goes without saying that none of His Devotees go empty handed. Instead Sri Navaneetha Krishnan Blesses them with a cornucopia of Health, Wealth and Prosperity.

Devotees visiting this small Temple go back with immense happiness. Likewise Devotees can circumambulate this Temple for which there is adequate space. The Vimanam of this Temple has been painted making it look eye appealing. The rear of the Temple looks awe inspiring with the Western Ghats and the Clouds sailing over it. This Temple is located on the border of Tamil Nadu adjoining the neibouring Kerala State. Hence visitors going to Kerala do make it a point to stop here and have a glimpse of their favourite God. This Temple is very well looked after by Sri.S.Padmanaban and is kept meticulously clean. Krishna Jayanthi is celebrated with great fanfare and during this time the Temple attracts a lot of Devotees not only from Tamil Nadu but also from the neibouring Kerala.
