This Temple is located in Thirukovilur in Kallakurichi District. This Temple has been built on the Southern Bank of Thenn Pennai River. Sri Ulagalantha Perumal is seen as a Presiding Deity in only three Temples in Tamil Nadu. This Temple is one among them and the other two Temples are in Kanchipuram and Sirkali. This Temple has a majestic 192 feet tall Rajagopuram visible from all four directions. This Rajagopuram is made up of 11 tiers and is East facing. This is the third tallest Rajagopuram after Srirangam and Srivilliputhur. There is a Dwajasthambam or a Kodi Maram, a Neivedhya Peedam or a Bali Peedam and a Garudalwar Sannadhi facing the Moolasthanam.

The Presiding Deity is Sri Ulagalantha Perumal, and an incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu. The Presiding Deity is made of Tharu Wood and is so tall that no other Temple could match it. The Presiding Deity of Sri Tiruvikrama Perumal is seen holding a Sangu in HIs right hand and a Chakkaram in His left hand. His right leg is raised high above as if to take the next huge step. His Consort is known by as Sri Poongoval Nachiyar or Sri Pushpavalli and She has a separate Shrine. The entire Ceiling and Pillars leading to the Thaayar Sannadhi is gorgeously painted. The Temple has got two names 1) Sri Ulagalandha Perumal Temple and 2) Sri Tiiruvikrama Swamy Temple. This Temple is one among the 108 Divya Desam. It was built during the early Chola period with later contributions coming from Vijayanagara Rulers and Madurai Nayakars. Saints Poigai Alwar, Bhoothath Alwar, Perialwar and Thirumangai Alwar have sung about this Temple. 

Sri Krishna or Sri Venugopala Swamy made of Saligrama Stone has a separate Shrine here. Sub Shrines for Sri Anjaneya, Sri Lakshmi Narayanan, Sri Lakshmi Varahar, Sri Thirukachi Nambi, Sri Desikan and Sri Emberumanar too exists. Sri Vishnu Durgai which is generally seen in Shiva Temples has a Sub Shrine here. Devotees can make use of the Thulaa Baaram (Weighing Scales)  here to give their Offering. The Temple follows the Thenkalai Sampradayam. The Vimanam is Srikara Vimanam and the Sthala Viruksham is a Punnai Maram. There are two Gopurams with a Chariot found near the front Gopuram. Maasi Magam, Purattasi Uthsavam, Navarathri and Krishna Jayanthi attract lots of Devotees. There are several shops around the Temple. It is a sorry state of affairs that there is absolutely very little parking available near the Temple.
