The Presiding Deity of this Temple is known as Lingaraj who is none other than Harihara.  Here Hari denotes Vishnu and Hara denotes Lord Shiva. This is the only Shiva Vishnu Temple in the  entire Bhubaneshwar. This Lingaraj Temple is one of the largest Temple in Bhubaneshwar. Since the Presiding Deity of this Temple was found under a Mango tree this Temple is known as Ekamara Kshetra. The Presiding Deity is also called as Kirtivasa or Tribhuvaneshwara. This Temple is built by following the Deula Style of Architecture. This Temple was built by the Rulers of Somavamsi Dynasty and was later developed by the Rulers of Ganga Dynasty. The main Tower of this Temple is of 180 feet tall.  The Temple is being administered and maintained by the  Temple Trust Board and Archaeological Survey of India. Mahashivaratri is celebrated in a grand manner and every year lakhs of Devotees visit this Temple at that time to get His Divine Blessings
