Sri Kalyana Venkatramana Swamy Temple is also known as Thanthondri Perumal Temple and it is located in a hillock called Thanthoni in Karur Town. This is a West facing Temple and they have safely parked the Temple's Chariot in an enclosure. Likewise Devotees can enter the Temple through a South facing entrance which is almost similar to that of the West entrance. This Temple does not have a Rajagopuram but instead there is a coloured Gopuram and on top of it the Idols of Sri Venkataramana Perumal is seen in a West facing standing posture. He is flanked by a Sangu a Chakkaram and two Garudalwar Idols on either side. A huge corridor leads from the Western entrance upto a Stambam. Beneath the Sthambam an West facing Idol of Anjaneya Swamy is embosed. This corridor has numerous pillars on either side. Devotees may have to climb aroun 25 to 30 steps and this point there is a Neivedhya Peedam, a Dwajasthambam or Kodimaram and a Garudalwar Idol facing the Moolasthanam. There are two Dwara Baalakas standing guard at the threshold of the Sanctum Sanctorum. In the West facing Moolasthanam Thanthondri Perumal or Kalyana Venkatramana Swamy is seen in a standing posture with four hands. His two upper hands hold the Sangu and Chakkaram. It is said that this Presiding Deity is a Swayambhu Perumal and hence referred as Thanthondri Perumal. In reality the Moolasthanam itself is cave like and the Presiding Deity is embossed on the rock therein. He is said to be more than 10 feet tall and looks dazzling when seen by the Devotees. An important aspect of this Temple is that there is no Thaayar Sannadhi here. Instead it is believed that Thanthonri Perumal holds His Consort Mahalakshmi in His bosom. There is another modern hall named as Srinivasa Kalyana Hall and Divine functions are held in this modern hall. There is a huge wood work of Srinivasa Kalyanam displaying Srinivasans Wedding with Padmavathi Thaayar before Agaasarajan and in the presence of Mahadevar, Brahmma and others. There is a West facing Sub Shrine for Veera Anjaneyar Sannadhi. Bala Anjaneyar and Bala Garudan too are found in the same Sub Shrine. The Temple has an exclusive library and a Temple Office. There are lot of Shops selling various Divine articles. The Temple has lift and wheelchair facilities for the sick and disabled. It also has a car parking on the Southern side. Thiruvona Nakshatram, Pavithra Utsavam, Masi Magam and Theppothsavam are celebrated in a grand manner. Devotees refer this Temple as Then Thirupathi or Dakshina Tirupathi.
