Sri Pudhu Vangal Amman Temple is located in a village called Vangal which is close to Karur. This Temple has been built several years ago on the banks of River Cauvery at a place called Aganda Cauveri. This Temple belongs to the people of the Kongu Vellala Community and the Varaguna Perungudi Kootam worship this Vangal Amman as their Mother Goddess or Kula Deivam. Some say that this Temple is more than 130 years old but it has been renovated recently and looks exquiste to the eyes of the onlookers. The Temple has a huge South facing entrance with a sliding gate. Similarly there is another entrance to this Temple on the Western side too. Quite away from the Rajagopuram is a Naga Devatha Idol placed on an elevated podium. Two huge coloured Idols of galloping Horses are found facing the Rajagopuram. Just ahead of these two galloping horses is a pair of Divine feet which is a Divine Swing and on top of it is a pair of Divine Feet which is believed to be that of the Vangal Amman. The Temple's Rajagopuram is five tiered and North facing. To the left, beneath the Rajagopuram is the Sub Shrine of Vallaba Vinayagar. On entering the Temple premises the Urchavamoorthy Idol of Vangal Amman is seen mounted on a Divine Swing which is North facing. Beyond it is a Neivedhya Peedam and a Simha Vaahanam facing the Sanctum Sanctorum. There is a Dwara Baalakar and a Dwara Baalagi Idol who stand guard on either side of the Moolasthanam. The gold plated threshold placed at the entrance of the Moolasthanam looks dazzling. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Goddess Sri Puthu Vangalamman is seen in a sitting posture facing Northwards. The Head of the Puthu Vangalamman is slightly tilted towards one side as though She is listening to the Prayers of Her Devotees. There is another small North facing Ganapathy Idol closer to the gold plated threshold. All the pillars of the Maha Mandapam has been intricately designed and a casual look at them would keep any Devotees spellbound. The most intriguing feature of this Temple is that they have made a chain like structure chiselled out of a stone. This amazes all the Devotees coming here. In this Maha Mandapam there is a West facing Malayala Karupanna Swamy who is seen in a standing posture and close to Him is a dangling gong hung from a cemented structure. There is a East facing Shrine for the Saptha Kannigaigal who are as follows: Pattrika, Devakanya, Padmakanya, Sindhukanya, Sugasakanya, Vanakanya and Sumathikanya. Close to the Sapthamathas is an East facing Idol of Sri Nambianna Swamy who is seen in a standing posture. In the South facing Shrine of Madurai Veera Swamy is seen in a standing posture. There is a Madapalli and Annadhanam is yet another feature of this Temple. There is an exclusive Temple Office near the Southern gate. Ear Boring, Tonsuring and Divine Slaughtering of the Goats is done here. This Temple has a loverly Nandhavanam or Temple Garden with two Elephant Idols on either side of the entrance. The entire Temple complex has a neatly cemented flooring and a huge vehicular parking. There are several flower shops near the Temple selling all Divine Pooja articles. Special Poojas are performed during Aadi Months and during Ammavasai and Pournami days. Likewsie Komatha Poojas done on every Tuesdays and Fridays is very famous and it attracts a lot of women Devotees.
