Sri Konganagiri Murugan Temple is a hilltop Temple located in Konganagiri on the outskirts of Tiruppur Town. This Temple is supposed to be more than 1200 years old and is surrounded by lush green forestry which comprises mainly of Jack Fruit Trees or Palaa Maram. It is a habit here that those Devotees who come here are found to carry a stick made of this Palaa Maram and it is believed that it would good luck and prosperity in the house where it is treasured. This Temple is believed to have been built by Kongana Siddhar who was one among the 18 famous Siddhars who existed during the ancient times. This Temple is considered as a Thevara Vaipu Sthalam. Saints Appar and Arunagirinathar have sung in praise of this Temple. This Temple has an attractive Welcome Arch with a gate and the Idols seen on top of the Welcome Arch are eye captivating. There is a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam, a Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram and a Mayil Vaahanam facing towards the Moolasthanam. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Murugan is found flanked on either side by His Consorts and seen in a Thapas Kolam. Hence the Presiding Deity of Sri Murugan is also called as Thapas Kumaraswamy by many Devotees. It is widely believed that a visit to this Temple in Konganagiri would get rid of all Marriage Obstacles, Sevvai Dosham and Graha Doshams. The other important factor is the Navagraha Sannadhi of this Temple. Each of the Navagraham is seen along with their Consorts and respective Vaahanams. 

There are Sub Shrines for Sri Venkatesa Perumal and Sri Vinayagar. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is Vakkanai Maram. In recent days several Parks have sprung up around this Temple and the Devotees and their Kids enjoy a visit to this Temple with its surrounding ambience. Vaikasi Visakam, Panguni Uthiram, Shasti, Kiruthigai, Thai Poosam are some of the festivals that are celebrated in a grand manner.
