Moolangudi is a small village located between Kudavasal and Pudhukudi. Poi Cholla Meyyar Ponnan Temple is situated in a village called Moolankudi near Ponnamaravathi in Pudhukottai District, This Temple is considered to be a native village Temple to several Devotees who live in and around this place. There is an Idol for Goddess Badhrakali in this Temple. A story behind this Temple says that a brother (Poi Solla Meyyar Ponnan) and his sister died under mysterious circumstances. After sometime this Temple was built for them, but very soon a part of the village caught fire and the Badhrakali Idol was removed from here. Later wiser sense prevailed and the Badhrakali Idol was brought back to this Temple. Apart from these two idols there are two huge statues for two horses. This Temple is considered to be very powerful by the local people and Vaikasi, Mahashivarathri and other village functions are celebrated in a grand manner here. On such occasions many devotees from far and near visit this Temple.
