Chadhurdisai Sri Kulirchilingeswarar Temple is located in Punganoor in Ranipet District. The exact name of this place is known as  Ayilam. Punganoor and Kathiyavadi are equidistant from here. This Temple is located amidst a dense forest. Devotees could reach the open air Temple through a single muddy and rickety road. On reaching the Temple there is a huge black South facing Idol of Sri Ganapathy who has to be Prayed first. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Kulirchi Lingeswar and He is an incarnation of God Shiva. Sri Kulirchilingeswarar is seen East facing. The Presiding Deity of Kulichilingeswarar who is in the form of a Shiva Lingam is kept on top of a cemented podium and is believed to be around 9 3/4 feet tall. Sri Kulirchilingeshwarar is also known as Kulam Kaakum Kula Deiva Lingam. There are four Nandhi Vaahanam facing the Presiding Deity from all sides. They have erected roofing on top of the Presiding Deity. Apart from this there are 9 Navagraha Lingams, 12 Raasi Lingams, 27 Nakshatra Lingams, 8 Thisai Lingams and 18 Siddhar Lingams. They have also installed Sri Kasi Vishwanathar and Sri Annapoorani which are supposed to have been brought from Kaasi or Varanasi. The solitary Idol of Sri Murugan attracts many Devotees coming here. There is a Kalyana Mandapam located on top of this Hill and Marriages are performed here. There is a Temple Kitchen and an Annadhana Koodam where Devotees are offered Lunch. Lighting of Agandam Lamps is the feature of this Temple. Another noteworthy point is that the Devotees can perform Abhishekam on the Lingams directly by themselves. Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri, Maha Shivarathiri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner. A visit to this Temple gives you two way satisfaction of 1) Visiting a Temple and also 2) Visiting a small hill station too.
