Thirumalpur or Tirumalpur is a village located between Kanchipuram and Arakkonam. The ancient name of Thirumalpur was known as Thirumalperu. Sri Konar Temple is located in Thirumalpur in Ranipettai District. This Temple was built between the Pallava and Chola Period. Sri Konar Temple is an East facing Temple. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Ninrarulina Peruman Adigal and He is considered as an incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu. The upper Vimanam portion of the Temple is not seen. This Temple has been built using green stone instead of using locally available granite stones.

The Sanctum Sanctorum consist of Mukha Mandapam, Antrala. Here the Presiding Deity Blesses His Devotees along with his Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. There are Sub Shrines of Goddesses Sri Gajalakshmi, Sri Mahishasuramardhini and Sri Durga. There are many carvings related to the Epics Ramayana and Krishna Leela. The sad part of this Temple is that most Idols found in this Temple have been mutilated and are seen either without its head or Limbs etc. Though this Temple is not widely known to all it has a rich History of its past. The one interesting Idol of this Temple is that Sri Krishna is seen dancing with two Kudams or Pot in His hand nstead of the usual one. Hence this Idol of Sri Krishna is known as Kudakoothu Krishnan.This Temple is currently being administered and maintained by Archaeological Survey of India.
