This Temple is located in a congested outskirts of Chennai close to the Buckingham Canal. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Maha Prathyangira Devi and She is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathy. It is believed that She had orginated from the third eye of Lord Shiva. She is in the form of half Human and half Lion. It is believed that The Presiding Deity of this Temple has all the powers of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Parvathy. This Temple has a beautiful Rajagopuram which was built by following the Vaasthu Sasthram. There are Sub Shrines for many Gods and Goddesses like Varahi, Neela Saraswathi, Sarabeswara, Ganesha, Murugan, Panjamuka Anjeneyar, Agni, Ayyappa, Narashima, Rahu, Kethu, Shiva, Kalikambal, Saneeswara and Guruvayurappan. Many Homams are performed during Ammavasai days. There are hardly few Temples for Prathyangira Devi in Tamil Nadu and this Temple is the only one of its kind in Chennai. Prathyangra Devi stands for Dharma and hence many of her Devotees who see and meet Adharma in their lives do come here and Pray before Her and their woes soon vanish. There are other Sub Shrines for Goddess Varahi and Goddess Neela Saraswathi and Goddess Kalikambal apart from Gods Ganesan,Murugan, Sarabeshwarar, Shivan, Agni Bhagawan, Panchamuha Anjaneyaswamy, Aiyappan, Saneeswaran, Narasimhar, Guruvayurappan, Rahu, Kethu etc.
