Arulmigu Kadumpadi Chinna Amman Temple is located in Avadi, Chennai 600 054 and the road where the Temple is located is called as Old Military Road. This Road leads from Poonamallee to Avadi and the Temple is strategically located in a L bend. The Temple has two Welcome Arches. The firsst Welcome Arch is East facing while the second Welcome Arch is North facing. This Kadumbadi Chinnamman Temple is North facing attracting a steady inflow of Devotees. This is because the Devotees experience a Divine Grace and this Temple is considered as a place for Calmness and Tranquility. Entrance to the Moolasthanam is from the Western side gate. The Temple is believed to be more than 75 Years old. Its started with a Puthu or an Anthill. Now the North facing Kadumbadi Chinnammman's Face and Feet could be seen. It is construed that the Puthu or Anthill still exists emphatically and that a Silver Face and Silver Feet have been added. The Ubiquitous and Omnipotent Kadumbadi Chinnamman is considered as Goddess Sakthi. The Urchavamoorthy Idol of the Presiding Deity is safely kept in the Sanctum Sanctorum. There are several thousands of staunch Devotees who come here on a regular basis to have a glimpse and Darshan of Her. There are two huge Dwara Baalagis Idols who stand guard before the threshold of the Sanctum Sanctorum. There is a general belief and many Devotees say that the Divine Serpent within the Moolasthanam shows its presence for around 2 hours during the eventful Month of Aadi. Devotees after having Her Darshan could come out through the Eastern gate and circumambulate the Temple. The entire Temple walls and its ceiling are gorgeously painted in contrast colours making it look captivating to the eyes of the Devotees. Even the pillars of the Temple are beautifully painted in different colours. There is a small tiled East facing Sub Shrine in which seven Idols of Annammaars have been installed. These Annammaars are supposed to be doing the errand work for the Presiding Deity of Kadumbadi Chinnamman. To the rear of these Annammaars Idols are the seven Idols of the Saptha Kannigaigal or Sapthamathas and they are as follows: Brahmmi, Maheswari, Goumari, Chamundi, Vaishnavi, Varahi and Indrani. On either side of the Idols of the Sapthamathas are two Idols of a Horse. The above mentioned Sub Shrine of Saptha Kannigaigal is East facing. At one corner of the Temple is a Peepal Tree or Arasa Maram and beneath it is a Sub Shrine of Ganapathy along with two Naga Devatha Idols. Devotees can circumambulate this Ganapathy Sub Shrine along with the Arasa Maram and this is considered to be very auspicious. Facility exists for those Devotees who wish to cook Pongal and offer it to the Goddess here.
The entire Tamil Month of Aadi is considered to be very auspicious for Goddess Kadumbadi Chinnamman. Likewise Naga Chathurthi, Navarathri too are celebrated with great fanfare. There are few flower shops in the vicinity of the Temple. There is ample car parking space and Devotees can park their vehicles with ease.
